Is the speaker turned on?

1

We offer a range of solutions designed to meet your needs—whether you're just getting started or scaling something bigger. Everything is tailored to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

You have connected the charger and it does not show that it is charging?

2

  • Make sure that the speaker is in either Host mode (the Host light in the top of the interface lights up), or Standalone mode (neither Host nor Join is lit).

  • Make sure that the speaker is turned up on the Local volume knob, as well as on the XLR input knob (if a microphone is connected), or that the smartphone is turned up.

The speaker you have connected a microphone or smartphone to is playing, but other speakers are not?

3

  1. Verify that all speakers are turned on (the user interface will be lit).

  2. Press the power button on one or more speakers to turn them on.

  3. If a speaker won’t turn on, charge the battery.

  4. Make sure that only one speaker in your system is set to Host mode (see how).

  5. Make sure that all Joining speakers are in Join mode (see how).

The speaker won’t play after connecting a device?

4

You have connected a microphone or playback device to an input, but the speaker you have connected to is not playing?

  • Make sure that the speaker is in either Host mode (the Host light in the top of the interface lights up), or Standalone mode (neither Host nor Join is lit).

  • Make sure that the speaker is turned up on the Local volume knob, as well as on the XLR input knob (if a microphone is connected), or that the smartphone is turned up.

Experiencing dropouts on Thyra™ Link when 12+ units are connected?

5

This is a known issue that can occasionally occur in Thyra™ Link. It is currently under investigation and being resolved. As Thyra™ evolves, it must be able to handle an unlimited number of devices, and we will not compromise on stability.

I plugged in my speaker but it wont charge?

6

When the battery is completely empty, the speaker only charges at a very low fallback speed (5V). It needs to build up enough energy before the battery management system can start and negotiate higher USB-C PD power levels. This can take hours, during which the speaker may appear unresponsive. We always recommend charging the speaker before storage to avoid this.

My speaker cannot make a full charge?

7

At first you may experience that your SOWA speaker cannot make a full charge. No worries, this is completely normal and there is nothing wrong with your battery. This simply happens because the built-in battery management system needs to measure the full capacity of the battery.

Solution: Discharge your speakers completely and charge them again. After one cycle, the charging should be calibrated and show full power once again.

I get audio dropouts when I use the SOWA App and play Bluetooth audio from the same device?

8

In certain cases we have had issues with the app being used while simultaneously connected to an audio source via Bluetooth, with the same source also playing to the host via Bluetooth. This is something we are currently resolving and hope to have fixed in the next SOWA App update.
