App functionality
4
If hosted by a New Generation product, you retain all the functionality of the app, except for individual controls and the individual overview when joining speakers from a previous generation.
SOWA Microphone™ compatibility
5
To make the SOWA Microphone™ work in a cross‑generation setup, you can do so, but you should cable the host (the new generation on Thyra™ link) to the other product that is on the Thyra™ fixed channels.
Frequently asked questions
-
Choosing between Thyra™ Link and Thyra™ Fixed is simply about what you want to optimize.
Thyra™ Link (CH0) focuses on flexibility and ease. It provides dynamic linking with smart, automatic connections and enables Microphone™. Use Thyra™ Link when you want the fastest setup and the most adaptive linking experience.
Thyra™ Fixed (CH1–CH4) focuses on range and compatibility. It runs on pre-defined channels, enables cross-generation setups, and is required when longer range or maximum system stability is needed.
-
When using a cross-generation setup, the SOWA Microphone™ cannot connect directly, as it works with Thyra™ Link, while cross-generation setups require Thyra™ Fixed.
You can still use the SOWA Microphone™ by connecting it to an FOH™ or a new-generation speaker, and then running a cable from that unit into the Thyra™ Fixed system. This routes the microphone signal to all connected units.
